This guide, titled Ethical Thinking and Practice for Parent and Family Life Educators, has been updated several times, with the most recent edition released in 2024. The 2024 edition is available for free on the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) website, accessible to everyone regardless of NCFR membership. This resource is widely utilized by parent educators, ECFE staff, and family life educators both across the U.S. and internationally.

What's New in 2024:
  • Two new steps have been added to the Case Study Analysis Process.
  • The guiding principles have been updated to focus more on social and racial justice.
  • A new concept called “aspirational ethics” has been introduced, helping educators think about ethics in a more balanced and dynamic way.

A Good Time for the Truth - Race in Minnesota
A Good Time for the Truth: Race in Minnesota
Edited by: Sun Yung Shin

Essays that challenge, discomfort, disorient, galvanize, and inspire all of us to evolve now, for our shared future.

This powerful collection brings together sixteen of Minnesota’s most talented writers, offering an intimate and unflinching look at what it means to live as a person of color in Minnesota. Through their essays, the authors reveal deeply personal experiences, breaking through barriers of politeness and pretense to share the truth of their lives. These stories invite readers to step into another’s reality, fostering a deeper understanding and connection.

Minnesota faces some of the nation's most troubling racial disparities, and this book serves as both a reflection and a call to action. By exploring the lived experiences behind the statistics, it becomes an essential resource for those committed to building more equitable and inclusive communities.
